Wildlife Winter Adaptations

Cost: Free
Jan. 22, 2017

Find out how different animals of the park adapt to winter. If conditions are right, the program will be a gentle snowshoe hike (snowshoes provided), if not we will adapt the program to the weather. Parks Canada Interpreters will be at Marmot Meadows this winter offering fun interpretive programs for everyone to enjoy.
Join an interpreter around the fire for stories while trying your hand at new skills, like making a fire with flint and steel or cooking bannock on a stick.
Every weekend will offer a wildlife camera safari where you will do a bit of hiking or snowshoeing > depending on the conditions. Along the way you can practice wildlife tracking and learn how trail cameras are helping us better understand the park's wildlife.
A traditional tipi will also be set up where Aboriginal programs and cultural teachings will occur in and around the tipi.
